  • Jewellery Care Guide
Learn what to avoid and how to care for your precious metals, diamonds, and natural gemstones with the maintenance recommendations below to maintain the lustre of your jewellery: Taking Good Care of Your Jewellery Do not contact perfume, use lotions, or apply any other liquids directly to your jewellery. Remove your jewellery while showering, bathing, or engaging in heavy exercise, especially when swimming in the sea or a chlorinated pool, to help preserve its longevity and excellent quality. Since our gemstones are all natural, they are susceptible to dirt absorption and chipping. Over time, due to hand craftsmanship, settings may also become loose. Keep your jewellery out of direct sunlight, high humidity, and harsh temperatures. When using bleach, cleaning supplies, or other chemicals, avoid wearing your jewellery. Care Guide for Jewellery It is highly recommended that you store your jewellery in its original The Charites London purse or another suitably lined box or soft pouch. It is ideal to store your jewellery in its special packaging separately, in order to prevent rubbing or tangles. We recommend using a cleaning cloth to keep your jewellery’s gold lustre shining and to eliminate dirt and premature corrosion. Instead of circular movements, rub the piece in one direction. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean metal as they can cause scratching. Hot water, strong chemicals, and cleansers should be avoided at all times since many natural gemstones are highly fragile. * Because silver tarnishes quickly when exposed to certain elements/chemicals in our daily life, we recommend that you care for, wear, and store your jewellery as described above.
